Meet our core team

Richard G. Jones, Jr., Ph.D.

Founder and owner
Rich is an award winning college instructor of 17 years, and an author. His book Communication in the Real World received an award of distinction in 2019 from the National Communication Association. He has led hundreds of discussion panels, trainings, and workshops on communication topics ranging from public speaking to diversity and inclusion.

Emily Vajjala, Ph.D.

co-owner and executive director
Emily's academic journey took her from an undergraduate degree in sociology and anthropology to a masters and doctoral degree in communication. She has presented research and led trainings and workshops on effective teaching and diversity at the local, state, and national level. Her passion is in social justice education and advocacy, and she is an avid runner. 

Chris Wagner, M.A.

CO-OWNER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Chris is a renaissance man, focusing on theological studies and political science as an undergraduate and communication studies as a graduate student. His professional experience in the food and beverage industry and as a territorial sales manager have allowed him to put into practice his expert communication skills while also teaching and leading others.

What if I no longer want to be enrolled?

We are here for you! If for any reason you’re not 100% satisfied with the course, just let us know within 14 days of signup by writing us at helpdesk@communicationleaderacademy.com and we’ll set things straight with a 100% refund to your original payment method.

What’s a Learning Arc?

Learning Arcs are collections of courses on important aspects of communication. We chose the metaphor of an “arc” because it illustrates the path of learning: from content exposure, to application, to reflection, to adaptation.

What do the courses focus on?

The courses focus on learning, applying, and sharpening your skills in order to become a more effective and inclusive leader.

Do you offer one-on-one coaching sessions or consultations?

Yes! After completing two learning Arcs, you’ll be able to join the Communication Leader Incubator. The Communication Leader Incubator will allow access to one-on-one consultations with credentialed and experienced communication professionals.

Can I switch courses?

If you mistakenly purchased the wrong course, just shoot us an email at helpdesk@communicationleaderacademy.com and we will transfer you over to the right course for you!

Do you offer bundled prices?

Yes! We offer both individual course purchases or discounted bundled course purchases which we consider the best value. 

Do you offer certificates of completion?

Of course! After you have successfully made your way through a Learning Arc, you’ll receive a personalized certificate of completion, signed by the Academy owners, which you can add to your resume to get an edge in the competitive job market.

How do I get a personalized letter of recommendation from my learning leaders?

Once you complete a Learning Arc you will receive an email with the option to request a personalized letter of recommendation. To take advantage of that offer, all you have to do is enroll in another Learning Arc! Once you do that you will be contacted by a representative from the Communication Leader Academy to get more information from you so that your letter can be tailored to your professional goals. A personalized letter of recommendation can give you an edge on the job market or be a valuable addition to your professional portfolio. 

How many courses will you be offering?

In 2021, there will be 6 learning Arcs and 30 courses coming!

Do I have to do the course on a specific timeline?

Nope! You can go at your own pace and finish at your own pace, we will be here every step of the way to make you succeed. 

Is there a recommended amount of study time per course?

Yes, each course will vary and will show the recommended study time per course as well as the level of difficulty for that course to better help you succeed.
