Magic of Communication

When I was a kid, I loved the idea of magic. A simple spell to make everything you want a reality.  All you have to do is say the magic words.  Abracadabra!  Bippity. Boppity. Boo.

Little did I know, words really are magic.  Not just words, though. Communication is  magical! Through understanding communication and employing it effectively, we can set ourselves up for success.  There isn’t a single, one-phrase magic spell to make all our dreams come true. But there are communication skills, which we can learn and use, that will help us achieve our goals.

Make sure to give our blog a quick share!

Communication is everything.

Literally everything that we make happen for ourselves, we do through communication. It’s true.  Our entire world, or at least how we perceive it (which to us, might as well be the same thing) is shaped by communication. Everything that we understand. Everything in the human-world that happens or does not happen. Whether that be at the micro-level of one person persuading another, or the macro-level of federal and systemic discourse shaping the way we understand politics, it all happens within the sphere of communication.
Do you want to improve your life? Do you want to be a better friend? Colleague? Do you want to be a leader? Do you want a raise? Do you want to be your own boss? Some of us have advantages that will help us achieve these goals, but in the end, to succeed you must be a strong communicator and leader. That is one thing that all leaders will have in common.

Say the magic words. Unfortunately, there isn’t an easy phrase that we can teach you. But there are countless strategies, based on context, that skilled communication professionals can teach you to help you succeed. Is that magic? It’s the closest thing to magic I know how to do. My advice: If you don’t know magic, learn how to communicate by consulting the experts.
